hard rock zombies

We started watching Hard Rock Zombies last night but only got about 8 minutes into it. From the opening frames, we knew it was going to be amazing... either amazingly awesome or amazingly terrible (or perhaps a little of both). The main reason we switched it off, other than the fact that I was in the mood for a straight comedy (we watched The Freshman instead... thank you, Netflix!), was that we felt HRZ deserved to be shared more widely... so we're planning to watch it with some friends tonight over cupcakes. Consider the IMDB summary:

"A hard rock band travels to the tiny and remote town of Grand Guignol to perform. Peopled by hicks, rubes, werewolves, murderous dwarves, sex perverts, and Hitler, the town is a strange place but that doesn't stop the band's lead singer from falling in love with a local girl named Cassie. After Nazi sex perverts kill the band to satisfy their lusts, Cassie calls the rockers back from the grave to save her, the town, and maybe the world."

You see? Quality-wise, this could be on par with RotLD or with Zombie Lake... could go either way (I am still so ashamed that I talked a room full of people into watching Zombie Lake; you all have my eternal apologies). Regardless of where the chips fall with HRZ, I must admit that I simply couldn't have dreamed up a more perfect movie title for my interests... so, needless to say, the bar has been set pretty high.
